Our focus is on wines made from indigenous Greek varietal grapes by small family owned producers and boutique wineries. These winemakers deftly combine a respect for tradition with modern winemaking know how.
Wine and food have been intertwined within Greek culture since the beginning of recorded time. The ancient Greeks were amongst the earliest of vintners. This tradition continues up to the present day where wine occupies an important place at the modern Greek table both in everyday life and at times of celebration.
Greece is home to over 300 indigenous grape varietals — from the deep purple Agiorgitiko said to have sprung from drops of the blood of Heracles to the rose colored Roditis also known as alepou or the fox for the shade of its skin to the pale gold of the Assyrtiko. These native grapes make food friendly and versatile wines.
